Fall 2016 Doctoral Candidates

Dissertation Deadlines

  • Friday, October 7 – deadline to submit dissertation to division chair.
  • Tuesday, October 18 – deadline for oral defense of the dissertation.
  • Tuesday, November 22 – deadline for approved dissertation format review
  • Mon., Jan. 9, 2017 – deadline for completing SED survey (only Ph.D. candidates) and for successfully uploading the dissertation to ProQuest.

APA Workshop

  • October 15 Sat., at 9-11am (Lowenstein 1022)     
  • Nov 9 Wed., at 7-9 pm (Lowenstein 1022)

Workshops are FREE to all GSE doctoral students. Will be hosted by Dr. Katherine Landy, an APA format reviewer. Questions should be directed to Dr. Molly Ness.

IRB Workshop Series

The Office of the Institutional Review Board will host a Fall workshop series for ALL

When: Monday, October 31, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: Lincoln Center Campus, Law School Building Room 8-01

Advanced Topics – This vs. That workshop entails a participatory session to discuss various topics that are often confusing for researchers such as Anonymity vs. Confidentiality, Consent Vs. Assent, and Minimal Risk vs. More than Minimal Risk illustrated through case studies.

American Educational Research Association (AERA) Funding

2017-2018 AERA Minority Dissertation Fellowship in Education Research is available for graduate students.

This program provides mentoring and funding support to develop research skills and conduct studies in education related fields and topics.

Deadline: Tues., November 1, 2016
